Andrew Straw

Prof. Dr. Andrew Straw’s lab uses virtual reality and genetics to study visual behaviors in animals. He moved to the Department of Animal Physiology, Neurobiology, and Behavior at the University of Freiburg in 2016 from the Institute of Molecular Pathology (Vienna) where was a Fellow since 2010. In 2012, he was awarded the ERC Starting Grant FlyVisualCircuits and a grant from the Vienna Science and Technology Fund under their cognitive science program. In 2014, he was featured in Nature Methods’ Author File. Straw was a postdoc at the California Institute of Technology from 2004-2010 and has a Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Adelaide.
